UK Companies That Sponsor Indian IT Professionals in 2026
Which UK IT and consulting employers are licensed to sponsor visas for Indian software engineers, data professionals and IT consultants. Every company is checked against the Home Office Register of Licensed Sponsors.
The Short Answer
Major IT and consulting firms that hire Indian professionals into the UK, including Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Wipro, HCL Technologies, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, Accenture, Deloitte and Capgemini, are all licensed visa sponsors on the UK Home Office register. Each one holds an A rating on the Skilled Worker route, which means they can issue the Certificate of Sponsorship you need. Your role and salary must still meet the Skilled Worker visa rules, so check both before you apply.
Every company below was checked against the Home Office Register of Licensed Sponsors using Hiredge's own copy of the register, which we update every working day.

Why Getting This Right Matters
The hardest part of moving to the UK as an IT professional is not the visa form. It is finding an employer that can actually sponsor you. Applying to companies that do not hold a sponsor licence wastes weeks, and it is one of the most common reasons strong candidates from India get no response.
The good news is that the employers most Indian IT professionals already know are licensed sponsors. The list below shows which ones, with a link to each company's live entry on the Hiredge Sponsor Checker.

Important: A sponsor licence means the company can sponsor. It does not mean every role it advertises is open to sponsorship. Read each job advert, and confirm with the recruiter that sponsorship is available for that specific role.
The Skilled Worker Visa for IT Roles
Most Indian IT professionals moving to a new UK job use the Skilled Worker visa. To qualify, GOV.UK says you need:
- A job offer from a licensed sponsor and a Certificate of Sponsorship
- A job in an eligible occupation code
- A salary that meets the minimum for your role
- English at level B2
- At least £1,270 in savings held for 28 days in a row, unless your employer confirms it will cover your costs for your first month
Salary rules
GOV.UK says you usually need to be paid the higher of £41,700 a year or the going rate for your occupation code. You may be able to be paid less, with a floor of £33,400 a year, if you are under 26, switching from a Student or Graduate visa, or working towards a recognised professional qualification. Your total stay on that lower rate cannot be more than 4 years. A relevant PhD can also reduce the salary you need. Full details are on the GOV.UK pages for your job and when you can be paid less.
Software engineers and developers
Software developer and programmer roles sit under occupation code 2134, which is a higher-skilled code eligible for the Skilled Worker visa. Most mid-level and senior engineering roles at the firms above are well placed to meet the salary rules, but check the going rate for your exact role in the Immigration Rules Appendix Skilled Occupations.
Data roles
Be careful here. Data analyst roles (code 3544) are classed as medium skilled. GOV.UK says a medium-skilled job only qualifies if it is on the immigration salary list or the temporary shortage list. Data analysts are on the temporary shortage list at the time of writing. More senior data science and data engineering roles may sit under a different, higher-skilled code. Ask the employer which occupation code they will use on your Certificate of Sponsorship.
IT consultants
Consulting roles vary a lot. The occupation code depends on what you actually do day to day, for example development, architecture, business analysis or project management. Your employer chooses the code, and it must match the real duties of the job.
Moving with your current employer
If you already work for one of these firms in India and they want to move you to the UK, they may use the Senior or Specialist Worker visa instead. GOV.UK says this visa does not lead to settlement, so if you want to stay in the UK long term, ask whether a Skilled Worker role is possible.
What It Costs
From GOV.UK, at the time of writing:
- Application fee from outside the UK: £819 for up to 3 years, or £1,618 for more than 3 years
- Immigration Health Surcharge: £1,035 per year of your visa
- Personal savings: at least £1,270, unless your employer covers your first month
Some employers pay some or all of these costs. Ask before you accept an offer.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Assuming every role at a licensed company is sponsored. Always confirm for the specific job.
- Paying anyone for a job offer or Certificate of Sponsorship. Genuine employers do not sell sponsorship.
- Ignoring the occupation code. If the code is medium skilled and not on a shortage list, the visa will not work, however good the offer is.
- Accepting a salary below the threshold. Check the going rate for your code before you negotiate.
- Confusing the company name. The employer on your Certificate of Sponsorship must be the licensed organisation. Check the exact name on the Sponsor Checker.
