Why care workers need to check sponsorship status
The social care sector is one of the largest recruiters of international workers in the UK. Following changes to the Health and Care Worker Visa rules, senior care workers and care home managers can now be sponsored, joining nurses and other regulated professionals.
However, not all care providers hold a sponsor licence. There are thousands of independent and family-run care homes across the UK, and many do not have the resources or need to maintain a licence. Larger care home groups and national operators are more likely to be on the register.
Searching before you apply means you can focus your effort on employers who can legally hire you and issue the Certificate of Sponsorship you need.
